Tutorial: Mini Accordion Book

I stumbled upon Susan Kapuscinski Gaylord's Making Books the other day.  The website has a few book activities for children plus some information for parents and teachers.  The Free Activities page is viewable in both English and Spanish.

I decided to try out the Accordion Book... miniaturized!

What you'll need:
* two different types of paper (use some form of recycled paper!  cereal boxes, grocery bags, etc.)
* glue
* scissors (optional)

1.  Get a narrow piece of paper.

2.  Fold it in half.

 3.  Flip the top layer back to meet the original fold and crease.

4.  Flip the back layer back to meet the original fold and crease.

5.  You should have a 'w'.

6.  Cut (or fold and tear) out two covers.

7.  Spread glue on the top layer.

8.  Attach one of the covers.  Repeat on the back side.

9.  Now, you have a tiny accordion book.

10.  Decorate!
